Below is a list and short description of movies that I consider my favorite. Sure, it's generally the same info I'll have on my Facebook profile or something like that, but seeing as this site is all about me I figure it should be included on here as well. So, I give to you my favorite movies (in no particular order, and more are coming!).
As a warning, this movie is slow. Coming in at 2 hrs and 6 min, it's something you'll have to sit through. If you're a fan of great cinematography, a beautiful soundtrack and a fun story you'll love it though. Will Smith is always a favorite, and he plays a witty fun character in Bagger Vance. Matt Damon does a terrific job as a former Golf Wonder back to 'find his swing' and win over the hearts of Savannah in 'the greatest exhibition match to ever be played'. And, as expected, Charlize Theron is just cute as can be. Throw in some good lessons that are deeper than golf and you have yourself a great movie. The scene between Junah and Adele, where Adele does, but doesn't apologize is just great. Funny script, and the accompanying music fits the mood perfectly. This is definitely a great movie for a lazy day.
I don't know how many times I've watched this series, but I certainly never grow tired of it. In 1997 when Saving Private Ryan came out I was instantly a fan or WWII movies. I remember hearing things about this series on HBO, but since I didn't have HBO I couldn't watch it. A few years ago I decided to rent the DVD's to give it a try and I was hooked from Episode 1. This series is fantastic, I can not praise it enough. The cinematography is excellent, colors fit the mood and era magically, and some of my favorite soundtrack moments come from this score. The acting is terrific, and I really like the fact that they didn't use any big ticket actors in the movie. You'll recognize some faces, but they're not the hollywood gossip stars that infest the news. However, I do get sad when I see some of my favorite heroes from this movie playing bad guys in other shows. Go rent this, or just buy it! It's worth owning.
A good movie is nothing without a good soundtrack. John Williams & Hans Zimmer are among my favorites.
